A huge thank you to everyone who signed up for Season 2! We're excited to see both returning and new players hit the ice as we begin another competitive season of PPHL.

The wait is almost over! Season 2 Combines officially begin tomorrow and will run from 7:00 PM EST – 9:00 PM EST each night.

This is your opportunity to showcase your skills, compete alongside fellow players, and make an impression on the managers before the draft.

⏱️ Each combine game will consist of three 3-minute periods, for a total game time of 9 minutes.

📅 The final night of Combines will be held next Tuesday, giving everyone multiple opportunities to get on the ice and showcase their talent before the draft.

While attending Combines is highly encouraged, it is not required to participate in the league. Players who are unable to attend will still be eligible for the draft and the upcoming season.

Be sure to arrive on time, be ready to play, and most importantly, have fun! Additional information regarding combine procedures and team assignments will be announced before puck drop.

We have ran many tests and have received as much feedback as possible from you guys on the puck build and have came to this final puck for the foreseeable future. This is the same puck we have been running for the past week in pugs so it should be familiar to some of you. Here is a general rundown of the new puck compared to our last one.

Puck is technically lighter, but will feel heavier on stick and slides off stick less.
Puck bounces off less since of it's new lighter mass, so goalies will have better rebound control.
Puck is fatter, 0.85 scale on x and z, but 0.92 on y axis for better realism.
Puck has a new height drag where puck launched higher than the net will get dragged down more. (Less clears or delay of game, more predictability)
Stick is a tad lighter, but that will not affect the movement with the mouse, only the puck to stick collisions.
Puck speed stays the same.

This should of been patched with our first phase of fixes, but seems unresolved.

Also, we are getting alot of people complaining that their mods don't load on server join.
This is an issue with the server's backend player count and the real player count. We're looking into fixing it with Toaster's help, but it might also be a vanilla Puck bug, as it was working correctly in old versions.
To mitigate the bug, wait until someone leaves the server and mods should load correctly on join.

These servers are now back up and should now be as powerful as our other servers :
- CHI Box 1 (pugs and 5v5), PPHL Official 2 will now be closed since it was temporary, so please switch to the regular pug servers

To recap our almost completed plan to fix the lag :

• First phase was to fix alot of issues regarding the communication of our servers and the website. While this is mostly done since today, there are still issues regarding the Stats uploading. We have identified the issue and we are working on it. Thanks to @Ami for the findings and quick fixes. Thanks to me for the testing.

The fixes from this phase should completely remove the freezes and hard stutters that we had since the last couple weeks and have made the servers more than playable.

• Second phase was to finally make our VPS provider kneel to our demand to give us fair and equivalent hosts for our servers. We were getting fed 2019, 3 generations old servers at the same price than our other servers. This has been going on for months and was first noticed when the CHI box 1 was clearly struggling but not the box 2. Thanks to @rayeh for the findings and proof we needed to force the VPS provider into migrating our servers.

This fixes the inconsistent performance server to server and the micro stutters that are not from the Puck game normally and should make our servers smooth.

• Third phase will take place in the coming days, with both CHI boxes already having those optimizations. These shouldn't really have a visible impact on performance, but should help us mitigate full servers lag. With the underpowered machines gone, I don't think this will be noticeable, but will help some servers having more than 4 servers. (Test servers, PPHL servers) Thanks to @rayeh for the idea a while ago.

This fixes some of the peak hours stutters and should make our servers more consistant.

We have finally proved to our VPS provider, after months of battle, that some of our servers were underpowered.

These servers are going to be in indefinite maintenance starting 2026-06-12 17:30 UTC.

After the maintenance is done, all servers should equal and powerful.

Here's a list of the affected servers :
- CHI Box 1 (pugs and 5v5), PPHL Official on CHI box 2 will be available for pugs

Hello ! We are currently testing some changes to backend stuff on Chicago 6v6 server to see if it helps with some of the lag we are having.
Feel free to join in. I need full server to see any improvement.
Donors will need to join twice to bypass full server because of test code.

Just making an announcement about how we are testing a new puck feel for season 2 of PPHL in NA Official and NA PUG servers, nothing currently is finalized and these tests are being done in the first place to further find the right "feel" of the puck!

The wait is over. The website signup portals are fully native, operational, and ready for action.
Whether you are looking to grind as a player or lead a squad as a captain, here is everything
you need to know about the format, timeline, rules, and expectations for the upcoming season.
To ensure a highly competitive, balanced, and stable environment for our staff and community,
Season 2 will feature a 100% uniform 5v5 format across all divisions.
While our ultimate goal remains transitioning to a 6v6 format to simulate real hockey, running
6v6 on the current under-scaled ice compromises competitive balance, clogs lanes, and relies
too heavily on chaotic bounces. The league will execute a full, league-wide transition to 6v6 in
the future once the larger ice mod is finalized and fully stable.
We are operating on a flexible, relative weekly structure to keep things running smoothly:
● Weeks 1-2: Registration forms are officially open to the community on the website.
Vetting of captain applicants begins.
● Week 3 (Mid-Week): The Combine player showcases go live in dedicated, staff-hosted
public lobbies.
● Week 3 (Weekend): Registration closes, final team counts are locked, and the Season 2
Draft execution begins.
● Weeks 4-8: The Regular Season official schedule goes live on a fixed weekly grid.
● Week 9+: Post-season tournament bracket kicks off based on final regular-season
standings.
To help you plan your availability, games will run on a fixed weekly grid from 7:00 PM to 9:00
PM EST. The division schedules are structured as follows and will be subject to change given
the amount of signups for Season 2:
● Challenger Division (Div 2): Matches will be played on Thursdays and Saturdays.
● Premier Division (Div 1): Matches will be played on Fridays and Sundays.
● Format: Regular season matches follow a Double Round-Robin structure where every
team plays each other exactly twice.
● Playoffs: Post-season matches will run a Best of 3 (Bo3) series for Quarter/Semifinals,
culminating in a Best of 5 (Bo5) Grand Finals series.
We have completely ditched external Google Forms. Signups are now entirely handled natively
on our website.

2. Link your Discord account so captains and league staff can easily coordinate drafts
and match times.
3. Use the new form tabs to seamlessly switch between the Player Pool Sign-Up and the
Captain Application. You can resubmit at any time to dynamically update your position
or availability.
When submitting your application, you will choose how you want to market yourself to team
captains:
● Preferred Position: Select a specific primary role if you
want to anchor that spot. Captains will draft you with the expectation that you primarily
play that position on the ice.
● Signing Up as a Flex: Selecting a flex option (Any Skater or Any) signals that you are
a versatile utility asset. You are telling captains you will gladly slot in wherever the team
needs you on any given night to cover an absence, adjust to a line strategy, or maximize
your playtime.
We are still hunting for dedicated community members to help us scale league operations, spice
up broadcasts, and expand our media coverage. If you have experience or interest in league
administration, streaming, casting/commentary, or graphic design, please let us know! We are
looking for streamers in particular, if that interests you we encourage you to sign up!

We know everyone has been eagerly waiting for the Season 2 signup portals to open up today. However, due to some sudden, unforeseen circumstances behind the scenes, we need to delay the official release by just a bit.

The website sign-up forms will officially open tomorrow.

We will be releasing signups shortly, here is what you need to know!

1. The New Puck
Firstly we want to test out a different puck before the season starts, we will be having plenty of testers and testing done with players that have signed up and will play in the league to ensure this puck meets all of our expectations. Testing will not be done in combines, as combines will be used to showcase players skills and synergy on the expected build for the season.

2. Player Pool Eligibility & Character Standards
We are moving away from mandatory combine participation for eligibility, please be aware that the league retains the right to reject applications to the player pool. Participation in the PPHL is a privilege, and we prioritize members who are active participants within the PoncePuck community (servers, Discord, etc.). Furthermore, we evaluate every applicant based on judgment of character—ensuring a competitive and positive environment is our top priority. If you not an active member of the community in any way, your signup will more than likely be rejected.

3. Combines
As mentioned, combines are not required to be eligible for the draft. However, we strongly encourage everyone to participate in combines and PUGs. This is your best opportunity to get your name out there, showcase your skills to captains, and provide feedback on our new puck testing.

4. Mod List Freeze
To ensure a stable and consistent testing environment, please note that the server mod list will be officially frozen once combines begin. All testing and feedback should be prioritized before this cutoff to ensure the final build meets the league's standards.

5. Join the Team!
We are still looking for dedicated volunteers to help us scale the league. If you have experience in league staff, streaming, commentating, or graphic design, please fill out the form below.
